The Chinese New Year parade is arguably Vancouver’s most colourful and noisy event. Snaking only a half dozen blocks or so, the parade represents Chinatown old and new, ancient associations, clubs, schools of traditional and modern dance, martial arts and all of the good luck dragons and banners held by proud members that flow before each group, purified periodically with frenetic firecrackers. Always a spectacle and fun to shoot.
